Abstract

Evidence from rural Maharashtra suggests that the 'digital divide' remains a profound barrier to equitable learning. This survey-based study involving 380 students reveals significant intra-state disparities in internet access and digital literacy. Fewer than 30% of rural students met basic digital competency thresholds. The study identifies gaps between policy intent and ground reality, recommending improved device access and teacher training.
