Abstract
Microfinance and Self-Help Group (SHG) bank linkage programmes have served as vital instruments for socio-economic empowerment among rural women in South India. This study assesses the role of SHG participation in enhancing financial autonomy, household decision-making power, and income-generating asset creation among 300 women members across Bagalkot and Vijayapur districts of North Karnataka. Empirical findings confirm positive correlations between duration of SHG membership and credit accumulation, enterprise startup, and financial decision-making involvement.
