Abstract

Zinc Oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles possess exceptional optoelectronic properties making them suitable for solar cells, UV photodetectors, and photocatalytic applications. In this study, ZnO nanoparticles were synthesized via a cost-effective chemical precipitation route using zinc acetate dihydrate and sodium hydroxide precursors. Structural characterization via X-ray Diffraction (XRD) confirmed a hexagonal wurtzite crystal structure with an average crystallite size of 24.5 nm. UV-Visible spectroscopy revealed a direct optical band gap of 3.28 eV.
