Abstract

Social media platforms, particularly Twitter (X), have transformed political communication and youth voter mobilisation in urban India. This study examines Twitter usage patterns, information verification habits, and political participation among 350 youth voters aged 18-25 in tier-2 cities of Gujarat (Vadodara, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar). Through survey analysis and content analysis of political hashtag campaigns, the study evaluates how social media exposure shapes political efficacy, online activism, and electoral turnout.
